RSMB is a thriving company providing specialist media measurement solutions. We work with a wide range of clients delivering both long-term contracts like BARB and RAJAR, and ad hoc projects. We are proud that we have been a BARB TV audience measurement contractor since 1989. Last year, we were delighted to be awarded a new BARB contract which starts in 2024, covering Design and Methodology and Audit and Monitoring.

Our team of 44 are based in central London, and we are currently operating hybrid working; splitting the week between home and office working.

Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has experience in a research or analyst role and an interest in media research. This is a full-time role, with a requirement to work in the office for part of the week.

BARB has awarded RSMB a new six-year contract from 2024 that includes an expanded audit and quality control remit. Until the launch of the 2024 service, you will be working across both the existing BARB service, and the set-up for 2024. The role will focus on examining the quality of BARB data.

BARB data is complex, and you will be expected to quickly gain an understanding of all components, as well as the detailed methodologies that are applied during data production. You will become a subject matter expert in the panel operation.

You will report to the Research Director, work closely with the Senior Program Manager, and the rest of the BARB project team at RSMB.

Responsibilites 

  • Developing and maintaining a good understanding of BARB inputs and published data;
  • Working closely with other BARB contractors to understand and audit applied processes, such as pre-release data checks, ensuring that the design is fit for purpose and they are applied as intended;
  •  Analysing quantitative data and preparing high-quality reports including recommendations focussed on the quality of the BARB service; • Communicating and presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Building and maintaining successful working relationships with clients, co-contractors and with internal stakeholders at RSMB to ensure the smooth running of the service;
  • Designing and specifying data investigations and ongoing service delivery reporting analyses to our technology development team.

Experience & Qualfications (Must have)

  • Experience in a research or analyst role;
  • Batchelors degree in a STEM course;
  • Clear communication skills are a must - written, visual and spoken;
  • You must be numerate, analytical and inquisitive in nature;
  • You will have demonstrable experience in data manipulation, with some experience of databases, SQL or other general programming skills;
  •  You will be able to work autonomously, be confident in your abilities and not be afraid to question data; therefore,
  • You will be organised, have meticulous time management and be able to plan to meet deadlines

Experience & Qualfications (Nice to have, but not essential) 

  • familiarity with BARB data;
  • familiarity with BARB service design and methodology;
  • experience in data visualisation, particularly Power BI;
  • experience of media research;
  • ISO auditing experience
