Cedar is a creative and commercial content marketing agency with offices in London, Hong Kong, Madrid and Cape Town. We are looking to recruit a Senior Insight Manager for the Tesco account for a 2-3 month contract starting asap! Working in collaboration with Tesco internal teams and clients, the person chosen for the role will be formulating and using insight generated from research and data to inform Tesco strategy and creative, plus evaluating the performance of Cedar-produced owned media content for Tesco.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing, analysing and presenting relevant insight from Cedar-owned syndicated research/data sources (TGI, Mintel, Google Analytics, social platforms, etc) as well as from the Tesco teams and broader cultural sources
  • Helping to proactively establish key trends and behaviours which affect Tesco to spot opportunities and new direction for the brand and its customers
  • Supporting the editorial and strategy teams with clear insight which translates into content actions
  • Designing, managing and analysing proprietary research and data projects for Tesco owned media - also working with external research agencies and data agencies to design research and data projects for Tesco owned media
  • To inform and enable internal strategic and tactical decisions
  • To prove that Cedar’s work is meeting Tesco’s objectives and KPIs (incorporating benchmarking, social media listening, exploration of analytics and online/offline media measurement)
  • Championing the use of customer data and research among Cedar’s Tesco team
  • Running internal training on insight-related matters for Cedar’s Tesco team 
  • Ensuring that the skills of insight and planning staff are developed through management and mentoring.
  • Distributing relevant insight thought pieces to the team on a regular basis
  • Creating thought leadership pieces for distribution to clients and trade press

Key Contacts:
The chosen applicant will work closely with the strategy, creative and account management teams at Cedar. There will also be regular contact with client marketing and insight teams, client roster agencies and third-party research and data companies.

Desired Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and usage of syndicated research and data (e.g. TGI, social listening tools, WARC)
  • Experience of designing, creating, managing, analysing and presenting proprietary research/data projects
  • Knowledge and usage of working with client data (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, client databases)
  • Knowledge of media best practice across channels/platforms
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Data visualisation skills
  • Project management skills
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Approachable/team player. Put others before themselves
  • Creative. Able to interpret insights using innovative thinking
  • Proactive/a self-starter

  • Experience of working with both online AND offline media previously is crucial
  • 4+ years worth of experience in an insight-led role
