Putting Attention into Context: how magazine media can boost sales

Impressions only work if they make an impression. Data will get you to the audience, but it won’t get you their attention. The body of evidence that ‘more attention equals more sales’ is growing and we know that consumers pay attention to magazine media advertising – across all platforms. In this session, Magnetic has pulled together all the relevant work on digital attention to take a fresh look at the role of context and how this will deliver results for advertisers.

Little and Often

Sean Adams, Global Insight Director for Swedish technology company Brand Metrics will present a case for making brand lift measurement a more integral part of every digital campaign. Using data from hundreds of recent campaigns, run by many leading publishers from the UK and beyond, Sean will share practical insights and hypotheses that help to better understand effectiveness across a greater number of campaigns and how to use that information proactively to guide the direction of future strategies.

Come Together

Denise Turner and Sorcha Garduce from Newsworks will share the highlights of their latest state-of-the-nation research, “Come Together”. The study shows that the majority of people in the UK are feeling “cautiously optimistic” about the future as we emerge from a tumultuous period following Brexit and the pandemic. But there are also complex contradictions at play, especially concerning our national identity. Denise and Sorcha will provide a snapshot of the report and the role that news brands and advertisers can help play in bringing the nation together again.

Evening meetings are free to attend, but only open to MRG Members. Booking via the website only.

Those who book will be sent the link to access the online event on Tuesday afternoon before the meeting.
