Join the MRG Comittee
The current MRG Committee term ends on 31 March 2026, which means it’s soon time to elect our next group of industry leaders. Could that be you?
You’ll help shape the future of our industry by championing best practice, sparking innovative thinking, and nurturing emerging talent. If you’re passionate about the research community and want to make a meaningful contribution, we’d love to see you put your name forward.
How to Nominate Yourself
If you’d like to be considered, please send:
- Your name
- A short paragraph on why you’d like to join the Committee (this will be shown to members during the election)
- A recent photograph (also used during the election)
Deadline for nominations: Monday 23 February
Elections will run from Friday 27 February to 5pm on Friday 13 March 2026.
Please send your nomination to the MRG Co-Chairs, Jemma Ralton (jemma@tapestryresearch.com) and Chris Felton (Chris.Felton@jcdecaux.com).
Important Information for Candidates
- You must have completed one full year of membership by the time of the election (i.e. your membership must have been active since at least 1 April 2025).
- Members should be able to attend 10 of 12 Committee meetings each year (usually 2 hours during business hours) and take turns chairing evening meetings or training sessions.
- Committee roles are voluntary. The work is rewarding but typically requires 1–2 hours a week, fitted around your day job.
- To ensure a broad and diverse Committee, we aim to maintain wide representation across companies. As a result, and in alignment with MRG tradition, we may have to limit the number of people from the same company who are allowed to serve. This will be at discretion of the current chairs.
- Your company must have no outstanding MRG invoices.
- Former Committee members are welcome to stand again.
What You’re Standing For
There are 10 open positions this year. You are standing to join the Committee as a group - not for specific roles. Once elected, the new Committee will work together to assign responsibilities based on individual strengths and interests.
Roles typically include:
- Chair – oversees the running of the Committee and assists in the organisation of MRG conferences. This is a two-year tenure position and is open for the upcoming period. In most cases this is a shared role between two committee members
- Conference – leads the organisation of the MRG annual conference (London in year 1, and international in year 2).
- Commercial – negotiating the sponsorship opportunities for events and the MRG awards.
- Communications & Jobs – manging email and LinkedIn communications, job adverts and sometimes more general marketing.
- Education – organising and supporting training courses.
- Evening Meetings – organising our diverse range of evening talks.
- Finance – keeping MRG accounts in order and budgeting.
- Membership – handling our membership relationships and queries.
- Social – organising a raft of member social events.
- Website – maintaining and developing our website www.mrg.org.uk
If you’re curious about what’s involved - or just want a quick chat - please reach out to our Co-Chairs, Jemma and Chris, or any of our other Committee members. We’re always happy to share what it’s like behind the scenes!
