There’s nothing in my basket
Make sure you’re logged in. Even if you’re not an MRG member you will need to register as a user on the website and log in before you can book any events or purchase membership.
I’m a new user - how do I register?
Go to the login page, enter your email address and select “No I am a new customer” then follow the instructions. You can choose a password.
It says my email already exists/ I don’t know my password
Go to the login page, enter your email address and click the “Forgotten your password?” link below the grey box – a temporary password will be automatically emailed to you. Depending on your mail server, this might take a few minutes to an hour. If you press the button multiple times, a temporary password is issued each time and the final email you receive will contain the correct temporary password. Please type in the password rather than copy and paste from the reset email.
I get a message saying “Invalid data – we had a problem validating one or more of the membership email addresses provided”
You are booking a ticket that is available only to current MRG members but the site does not recognize at least one of the email addresses you have entered as a current member's email address. Double check you have spelled the email address correctly and double check that the email addresses you have entered are current members (they may have expired). Membership status can be checked by the inidividual on the My Account tab on the top right (only visible once logged in).
I’m trying to book a free event but it’s asking for a billing address
Free events are booked through the same system as paid events, so the site asks for a billing address. Don’t worry, it won’t ask for any further payment information, and the site will retain your address – you won’t have to enter it more than once.
I don’t have a PayPal account
You don’t need one. The site uses PayPal to securely process all transactions but you can use it as a guest for all transactions (including membership now).
I don’t want to pay by card
On all transactions there is the option to “Request Electronic Invoice” rather than “Pay by card (or PayPal) now”. You will be automatically invoiced and there is an option to enter a PO number on the invoice. Please note that in the case of membership payments, if the invoice has not been paid within three months of the electronic invoice being sent your membership will automatically be cancelled.
